The Camarillo Community Band will perform at the grand opening of the city’s Dizdar Park on Saturday, March 21, 2026, from noon to 2:00 PM under conductor Corey Nordal. During a portion of the noon hour, the band will feature selections from the band’s repertoire of popular tunes, light classics, movie music, marches, and jazz, all under the newly completed bandshell. During a portion of the 1:00 – 2:00 hour, members of Camarillo’s City Council will formally dedicate the park and the band will provide festive music.
The City of Camarillo broke ground for the Dizdar Park Renovation and Expansion Project on Wednesday, June 26, 2024. The 2026 grand opening is the fruit of more than five years of planning. Located at the southeast corner of Ventura Boulevard and Glenn Drive, Dizdar Park includes a new plaza, a garden entry gateway, a bandshell with stage, a fire station-themed playground, shade trees, seating, public restrooms, enhanced pavement, and a parking lot.
